IFTA Fuel Tax Reporting
You can count on us
Fast Truck Registration Services handles your fuel tax reporting so that you can focus on what matters most, the road.
States use the International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) to ensure that a fair share of fuel tax money goes back to each state. IFTA Miles operated in each state are calculated and taxes are paid accordingly. Fast Truck Registration Services will make sure this reporting is done right to avoid costly audits, fees and other issues.
Fast Truck Registration Services has the experience, expertise and the personal touch to ensure your IFTA trip sheets are completed correctly and filed appropriately. Fast Truck Registration Services maintains your information so that we can analyze the data and help you decide on the best states to buy fuel based on cost and IFTA fuel tax rate. We track all of the information so that you get your best MPG for reporting purposes and get the most for your dollar.
Note that if errors are found, you can face fines, interest and in some cases, that can equal 100% of the tax. If these taxes and penalties are not managed promptly and correctly, your permits can be suspended and you will not be able to get renewed. Needless to say, your trucking business will grind to a halt without permits. Count on Fast Truck Registration Services to ensure you keep on trucking and avoid costly errors.
Permits
Fast Truck Registration Services provides trucking permits that are required to collect taxes from interstate truckers for fuel and miles operated over the highways of the United States.
Each state can have a different tax rate on the fuel purchased and miles driven. Any truck over 26,001 lbs or in combination over 26,001 lbs must be permitted when traveling across state lines. To receive your required permits today please contact Fast Truck Registration Services. You may also be able to get temporary permits and order annual permits from Fast Truck Registration Services.
Annual fuel permits expire Dec. 31 of each year and temporary permits are typically good for 3 to 10 days. License tags or temporary permits that allow you to cross state lines are also available from Fast Truck Registration Services. Truck license Tags are valid for different durations based on the state of issue.
Trucks that lack the correct permits or have expired permits can be subject to serious penalties. You may be fined and forced to obtain temporary permits. Above all else this means a bid delay. In some cases you can be off loaded onto another properly permitted carrier at your own expense. Let us help you avoid any delays and keep you on the road.
IRP Registrations
Fast Truck Registration Services works with the International Registration Plan (IRP). The IRP is a reciprocal agreement that authorizes the proportional registration among the jurisdictions (states) of commercial vehicles and truckers.
This means that if a truck is operated in multiple jurisdictions, the driver must have all the mileage driven reported in each state and make sure taxes are paid proportionately based on the mileage driven.
The registration fee paid by the registrant is determined by the percentage of miles traveled in each state. The registrant reports the mileage for each state to the base state on the required application, and the base state calculates the fees due and collects the fees for each state. We can also provide on site apportioned plates.
If your vehicle is over 26,000 pounds gross vehicle weight (GVW); or has three or more axles, regardless of weight; or has a power unit and trailer whose combined GVW is in excess of 26,000 pounds, and the truck is part of a declared fleet that operates in California and at least one other IRP jurisdiction then you are required to register under the International Registration Plan.
